The short version
We collect what you type into our forms. There is no advertising on this site, no tracking pixels, and nothing that follows you around the internet. We do not sell anything about you to anyone, and we never will.
What we collect, and why
If you apply. The application asks for your name, email, where you are, your pronouns if you want to give them, and a set of questions about your business – what it is, who pays for it, what you are stuck on, your revenue, how much time you have, which track you want, and how you plan to pay. We collect it because we cannot read an application without it. Your answers are read by Rochelle and a small committee of Mosaic alumni and Aunties, and by nobody else.
If you join the newsletter. Your email address, and which page you signed up from.
If you buy something. Payment is handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never touch our systems – we see your name, your email, what you bought and whether it was paid.
If you use Akin. Akin is our AI guide, built by reGEN Impact Media. What you say to Akin is processed by reGEN under their terms. We do not train any model on your application, your numbers or the things you say in a session without asking you first, in words, in advance – and saying no costs you nothing and changes nothing about your place here.
If you join the co-op list. The Be counted form on the Co-op page asks for your name, your email address, where you are in the world, and how you would join. We collect it for one reason: to write to you when the co-operative is incorporated and membership actually opens. It is not an application to invest, and we never use it to sell you anything.
If you are in a cohort. Sessions run live on Zoom, so your name, video, audio and anything you type into the chat pass through Zoom, a United States company, under its own privacy terms. Zoom’s live captions are created automatically during the session. We record each session so that a session you cannot attend is not a session you have lost. Recordings are for your cohort only – never shared with Open Track, the Village, sponsors, partners or anyone else, never used in our marketing, and covered by the same confidence as the room. We also keep a record of who attended each session, because completing the program depends on it.
Where it lives
Applications, co-op signups and newsletter signups are stored in a Supabase database hosted in Canada. The emails we send you – your application or co-op confirmation, our answer, the monthly letter – go out through Amazon Simple Email Service, which processes them in the United States. Cohort sessions and their recordings run through Zoom. This site is served by Vercel.
Our typefaces are served from this website itself rather than from a font service, so no third party sees you arrive. Loading a page here does not tell anyone but us that you were here.
Analytics and cookies
We may use a web analytics service to count visits and see which pages people read, so that we know what is working. Analytics tells us things like how many people opened a page, roughly where in the world they were, and which page they came from. It does not tell us who you are, and we never connect it to your application.
If the service we use sets cookies or stores anything on your device, we will name the service on this page and say so before it goes live. As of the date at the top of this page, this site sets no cookies of its own.
What we do not do
- No advertising, no retargeting, no advertising pixels.
- No selling, renting or trading your information. Not to partners, not to sponsors, not to anyone.
- No forwarding your details to an Auntie, a funder or a partner organization without asking you first.
- No sharing session recordings outside your cohort, and no using them in our marketing.
- No connecting analytics to anything you have written to us.
The application form keeps a draft in your own browser as you type, so you do not lose work if you close the tab. That draft sits on your device, not on our servers, and it is deleted when you submit.
How long we keep it
Applications are kept for three years, so that if you apply again we remember you rather than making you start over. The attendance record for your cohort is kept with your application. Newsletter signups are kept until you unsubscribe. Co-op signups are kept until membership opens and we have written to you, or until you ask us to take you off the list.
Session recordings are deleted sixty days after your cohort’s final session. They hold exactly what the confidence of the room protects, so we keep them only long enough for the cohort to catch up.
Ask us to delete your application or either signup at any time and we will, and we will confirm when it is done.
What you can ask for
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@mosaicaccelerator.com. We will answer within thirty days, and usually much sooner.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Changes
If we change this page we will change the date at the top. If we ever change it in a way that affects what we do with information you have already given us, we will email you before it takes effect.
