We want this site and this program to be usable by everyone who wants them. This page says what we have done, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.
What we have done
This site is built as plain HTML. Every page works without JavaScript except the application form. There is no carousel, no autoplaying video, no pop-up, and nothing that moves on its own.
- Text can be resized to 200% without anything breaking or overlapping.
- Every page works at 390 pixels wide, and nothing scrolls sideways.
- Colour is never the only way we tell you something.
- Every photograph has alternative text naming the person in it.
- Headings run in order, so a screen reader can move through a page by structure.
- Links say where they go. There is no “click here”.
Where we know we fall short
We have not had this site audited by anyone who uses assistive technology daily, and we are not going to claim a WCAG conformance level we have not tested. Our own checks cover keyboard use, text resizing, colour contrast and reading order at four screen widths. That is not the same thing as a real audit.
The application form is long. It saves a draft as you type so you can leave and come back, but length is itself a barrier and we know it.
The program itself
Sessions are on Zoom, at midday Pacific. Live captions are on. Recordings and written material go out afterwards, so a session you cannot attend is not a session you have lost.
If you need something to take part – captions of a particular kind, material in advance, a different format, more time, a quieter way to contribute – tell us and we will arrange it. You do not need a diagnosis, a letter, or a reason. Asking will not affect your application.
We chose weekly sessions at a fixed time knowing that a fixed time excludes people. Open Track exists so that a scheduling problem does not have to cost you the curriculum.
Telling us
Write to info@mosaicaccelerator.com or call 604.612.9850. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what happened. We answer within five business days, and we will tell you what we are going to do about it and when.
This is the fastest way to get something fixed. We would rather hear it from you than not know.
